Emily & Nick {Wedding}

Another wet and rainy wedding day.   Where did summer go?  Well, regardless of what the weather is doing, weddings are defined by family, friends and of course the bride and groom.  Nick and Emily didn’t complain once about all the rain!  We just continued as planned as if the weather were not a factor and got so many great images.  When I arrived at Emily & Nick’s home, I immediately noticed a few renovation projects in process :)  To say they are making a home is an understatement… they are literally making their home!  Most of the walls downstairs were bare studs and did not have sheet rock on them.  The boxes and wiring were all exposed.  Floors, stairs, back bedrooms, hallway and a new bathroom are completed and look wonderful!  Emily & Nick are so proud of the work they are doing that I decided to embrace the renovations and work them into their images.  After a wonderful service at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Cherry Hill, NJ, we headed over to the Croft Art Farm were we proceeded to work between rain showers shooting around the many structures.  Arriving at the Venice Plaza in time for their cocktail hour, they were able to relax for a bit and get ready for the night’s festivities…From their entrance to the final dance, Nick and Emily danced with unbridled energy and passion.  Although Nick might have been a little overzealous with cake, the resulting image was hilarious and is like none I’ve captured before.  You will not see that one below–for Nick and Emily only… Sorry!  Thanks again to Sue Burrough for her assistance in documenting the event .  Emily & Nick, we wish you the best of luck and enjoy the honeymoon you already went on :) Bob

Clara {Baby Session}

Be careful what you ask for… you might just get it!  And so glad I did.  It all started with a comment I left about a wonderful image that Sue Burrough had taken of  a recent newborn.  Sue asked if I was serious about joining her during one of her newborn sessions.  Having not had the opportunity to photograph a baby in years (the one I have went and grew up on me), I jumped at the chance.  Baby Clara was just so content to sit and watch as we worked around her.  Not having been around a baby this young in 14 years caught me a slightly off guard.  I was getting something out of my bag, I looked up and Sue was undressing the baby.  I had forgotten how small and delicate they are.  Sue had to move some stuff and asked if I would pick the baby up while she did.  It all comes back in an instant and I held baby Clara as Sue rearranged baskets.  The big difference between a guy and a girl photographing a newborn, is maternal instinct! The baby fussed slightly.  Sue knew just what to do and went over, picked up the baby, and burped her!  We were back to shooting in no time!   Thanks to Sue for letting me tag along.  Melissa, you have a beautiful little daughter… hope you enjoy the images.

Ticita & Jimmy {Wedding}

Well they say it is good luck when it rains on your wedding day…. well Ticita & Jimmy should be very luck indeed!  The rain just did not let up all day; from the time we arrived, until the time the party winded down, it rained non-stop.  With all the rain and having to move the ceremony inside Ticita handled it all in stride and looked absolutely  beautiful.  Jimmy and about 15 or so Marines were phased none-the-least, they live for this type of weather.  While they would have probably rather been in their battle uniforms, they looked classy and professional in their full dress uniforms.  As Ticita & Jimmy kissed at the end of the saber detail, the marines gave a “To the Corps” shout followed by the loud slap of a saber meeting Ticita’s backside.  Being a Marine herself, I’m pretty sure she knew it was coming :)  Both sets of parents were wonderful and Jimmy’s mother Debbie made a incredible cake full of both their favorite fillings.  Lola and I had a great time seeing these two getting married.   We have known them both for several years and are very happy for them.  Special thanks to my 2nd shooter/Wife who put up with me all day.  Love ya!

Diana & Jeff {Engagement}

Had the great pleasure of spending Sunday after noon with Diana & Jeff who will be married this coming Halloween….. spooky!  Nothing spooky about these two they are a great couple and love to have fun!  So glad we postponed the shoot to wait for better weather, what a beautiful day!  While Im used to shooting in Old City, Diana took us on a guided tour of Center City starting from her house towards Love Park, City Hall, Fairmont Park, and many cool little spots in between.  Just hope I can remember for future shoots :)  After jumping in the car and heading to the Art Museum for the obligatory rocky pose :) we headed off to Eastern State Penitentiary to shoot as the light was going down.  But Im pretty sure we headed this way to hit one of their favorite home made ice cream shops :)  I was treated to the best raspberry ice cream I have ever had!  Thanks so much.   Cant wait to see you and your families again in October.

Jennifer & Michael {Wedding}

Jennifer & Michael who live in Colorado arrived early in the week for their wedding in Wildwood, NJ.  Jennifer and the girls got ready in StarLux hotel.  Billed as the hippest, most unique boutique hotel on the Jersey Shore it is a full of retro decor, lava lamps and funky colors & shapes.  As Jennifer was getting ready the local community held a parade in her honor…. well ok, it was NJ State Elks Convention parade, but it just added a nice touch to an already special day.  After a beautiful ceremony at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church all the guest made there way to the boardwalk via trolly for a group photograph.  As the guest headed off to the cocktail hour Jennifer, Mike and wedding party worked their way down the board walk stopping to play a few games and enjoy themselves.  With the wedding parry finished and on their way to the reception, Jenn & Mike strolled up the boardwalk browsing then many T-Shirt shops along the way… as I turned around I saw the torso of a female mannequin wearing a pair of panties with a totally inappropriate saying (although extremely funny)  Jenn turned beat red… saying she had the same pair… so of course we had to take a few pic’s…. non of which you will see below.   After our boardwalk excursion we headed off to the reception at Uries Waterfront Restaurant were the reception was well underway.  Walking past the DJ, i saw something that I have not seen in quite some time… turntables.  Later on that evening it would become evident why Mike chose a DJ that still spun records.  With the party in full swing Mike stepped behind the 3 turntables put a headset over one ear and started to really work this setup… the crowd went wild as Mike obviously had done this before :)  From there on out the dancing really picked up and everone had a blast…..  We wish you guys the best of luck.  Special thanks to Marlena Clarkson for her help this weekend.
